  • Mother's Day 2012

I went home to Brampton for Mother's Day back in May to see my beautiful Mom. It was a wonderful day spent with lots of food, peaceful nature, and lovely company.

We started the day off with some baked cinnamon french toast that I made from this recipe. So tasty, but a little to much sugar so I'd probably only make it for special occasions.

These two ducks have taken to swimming in the standing water on the top of our pool cover, they seemed joyously happy there!

We then took a long walk through a conservation area in Brampton that was surprisingly beautiful. The weather was perfect.

  • I love weekends.

Spent part of the weekend catching up with my cousin, Brenda. We used to be very close when we were younger, but it's been hard to keep in touch since we both became so busy. This past year we've been working hard at checking in and making sure we hang out more often than not. It's been wonderful! We spent Friday evening having a drink (Dominican Rum + Lime Perrier + 100% Grape Juice for me!) and planning our upcoming Fall trip to Europe. (!!!) I have never been before, (unless you count being one and in England with my parents)  so this is really, really exciting. Plus I get to spend a week meeting some of Brenda's family and poking around Ireland. We're then headed to London for a few and then onto Paris.
Most of Saturday was spent making a huge, delicious breakfast and then proceeding heading out to go thrifting and a little mall shopping. I managed to snag a brand new sundress at Value Village and then a perfect floral skirt (and you thought I had too many!) and the cutest iced drink to go cup at Winners. I can't wait wait to put all of these use. But for now, here are some photos from our Saturday morning...

     My gluten-free pancakes.

Chicken Bacon (I'm not allowed real bacon right now...very sad.)

I hope everyone is having a great Monday! Photos from Easter coming soon (including photos of the tasty treats Chad and I made).

  • I'll walk in the golden light.

Spent a wonderful Saturday this past weekend in High Park with Chad. The beautiful sun felt so warm and soft on our faces, that all I can do now is think about all of the summer fun to come. Nothing as satisfying as riding my bike along the waterfront, with the sun on my face.

Chad found imported Vanilla and Cherry coke at this small convenience store near Roncesvalles, and could not have been more excited! Yum.

Took a few moments to work on my best tourist impression to get some photos of the almost ready, cherry blossoms. So beautiful!

Spent a few good minutes drooling jealously at everyone having ice cream. Gotta go find myself
    some more coconut ice cream.
