  • 52 weeks progress...

About a month ago, I posted about my 2013 goals and the 52 weeks project I was starting. It's definitely time to do a little update. I'm sad to say, I've already fallen behind on my promise of posting one blog a week, as this is my second post this year - but don't worry I could fill your ear up with excuses, if you ask!

In happier news, I have been 95% on time. A miraculous feat! Only 11 months to go. It's astounding how being on time is a lot more relaxing and satisfying than I ever thought possible, maybe that'll be what spurs me on to continue to change my ways.

I'm doing well at reading more books and being gluten free - it's fun to have a reason to look up new recipes and shop in new stores. And tonight I had the tastiest gluten free baguette, who even knew that was possible?!

I'll be back later this week with some photos I took this past week, but for now I'll leave you with my 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th photos of my 52 weeks project...

All photos taken with my Canon EOS 5D Mark II and my Canon EF 35mm f/1.4 USM lens.

  • A Day in the Park

I'm a bit ashamed to even post this after letting over 3 months go by, but it's my blog and if I want to do something, there's no one here's to stop me! Back at the end of May I met up with two wonderful ladies (and photographers), Sara and Krysta that I met from Flickr. I will forever be indebted to that website for meeting and being inspired by many amazing and talented people. It helped me to grow my skills and talents and has given me courage to try new things in my art.

Sara, Krysta and I spent the day (a sun blazing, butterflies flying, beautiful day) wandering around High Park. We walked along the paths chatting and getting to know one another. It was nice to be around new people who appreciate photography as much as I do. Not to mention that Sara seems to love tea as much as I do! (She even brought us each a sweet little jar of tea!)

Enjoy the photos, friends... I am going to work hard to get some more Spring and Summer photo posts in before I take off on my two week Europe adventure. (When I'm sure I'll come back and have so many photos that I won't even know what to do with myself.)

We met a lot of very nice (and cute) puppies!

(This and the photo following are from a bokeh panorama that I wasn't super pleased with.. so I decided to post a couple of snippits from it instead!)

And here's an extra cute shot from my Canon AE-1 (with Kodak Portra 400):

  • Rebel Rebel Outtakes / Toronto Band Photographer

As a follow up to Monday's post, I thought I'd show you guys a few outtakes from the Rebel Rebel shoot. It's always hard to narrow down the best shots from a shoot, that's why it's fun to have a blog like this and be able to show off a few extras from the day. I will have some backlogged posts and some new posts coming up soon. (Right after I edit over 1000 photos from the gorgeous Cuba!)

  • Rebel Rebel / Toronto Band Photographer

Hello all! Sorry for the silence these past couple of weeks - I just got back from a very relaxing vacation and I am ready to show you all some photos! But first...

About two months ago (I can't believe it's gone by so quickly) I shot Rebel Rebel at a local Toronto spot. Having known a couple of the members for a few years now, I was honoured to be asked to shoot some photos for them. They are a lovely bunch of people and they make great music together. They also have an EP coming out September 22nd as well, which you can read more about here.

  • July is over?!

I can't believe how fast time is flying. I still have a million things to accomplish this summer. Many of which include more days spent lying in the park. But let's be honest, I've had an amazing summer so far and I've taken more photos than I could ever count.

I'll be doing some more catch up blog posts in the next couple days, but here's a few teasers from July...

I shot an event on Toronto Island and got this shot of my two beautiful friends, Katie and Brynn.

A day spent at Ward's Island.

Canada Day sparklers in the park!

Shot some good concerts, like this one, with James Vincent McMorrow.

Then Tracey and I spent our Birthday with the people (and food and drinks) we love on Toronto Island! (3rd year in a row!)

    More bike porn!

Got to hang out with this cutie, Sawyer, all day too!

Then I spent my birthday at home with my beautiful family.

I'm a lucky girl and had these wonderful cupcakes and a cake made for me by my wonderful sister!

  • Mother's Day 2012

I went home to Brampton for Mother's Day back in May to see my beautiful Mom. It was a wonderful day spent with lots of food, peaceful nature, and lovely company.

    Bokeh panorama, 9 photo stitch.

We started the day off with some baked cinnamon french toast that I made from this recipe. So tasty, but a little to much sugar so I'd probably only make it for special occasions.

These two ducks have taken to swimming in the standing water on the top of our pool cover, they seemed joyously happy there!

We then took a long walk through a conservation area in Brampton that was surprisingly beautiful. The weather was perfect.
